Mr. Berstein has more than 19 years of financial experience with both investment banking and venture capital firms. Before joining Signal Hill in 2012 as the co-founder of Signal Hill’s Boston-based Internet & Digital Media practice, Mr. Berstein held senior positions at Morgan Keegan / Revolution Partners, BMO, Needham and Advanta Partners LP, Advanta Corporation’s venture capital affiliate. While at Advanta, Mr. Berstein co-founded and served as Chairman of the New York Private Equity Network (NYPEN). Mr. Berstein was also employed by the investment banking divisions of Jefferies Broadview and Merrill Lynch.
Mr. Berstein’s recent transactions include the sale of Business.com to Purch, the sale of iMemories to Lifetouch, Copyright Clearance Center’s acquisition of Ixxus, the sale of Constructive Media to H.I.G. Capital, Ritchie Brothers’ majority stake investment in Xcira, TEGNA’s sale of Clipper Magazine to Valassis and the sale of Brierley+Partners to Nomura Research Institute.
Mr. Berstein holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from Cornell University where he currently serves on the administrative board of the Cornell University Council.
